<itunes:subtitle>Where's Jesus been in your life this week? How are you doing in allowing him to teach you how to resist temptation like he taught in the Gospel 2 weeks ago? Are you thinking of heaven? What about sacrifice and glory? In this week's message (only in audio), we find ourselves near a well in Samaria, longing for lasting joy. Often, we seek worldly pleasures to quench our thirst, forgetting that only Christ offers living water. Despite our misguided pursuits, He thirsts for our souls, offering fulfillment beyond earthly desires. As we hear His call, let us not harden our hearts, for He alone can satisfy our deepest longings.</itunes:subtitle>

<itunes:subtitle>Each Sunday in Lent we will ask "Where's Jesus?" so that we can be with him and imitate him. Today, we are on Mount Tabor, and Jesus teaches we are called to glory. In the very act of showing us the end, Jesus also shows us that the glory of the Resurrection only comes about through sacrifice. And that the sacrifice of faith, the sacrifice which God asks of us, requires some sort of death. </itunes:subtitle>

<itunes:subtitle>Today the Church places before our eyes the greatest examples of waiting that we have in the Bible. John the Baptist and Mary, the Mother of Jesus. If we want to learn what to do in the waiting, we can look to them. What do they do in the waiting? Both Mary and John teach us how to wait – that we are in fact called to charity while we wait – both also specify that above all else our Charity is to direct others to an encounter with God. </itunes:subtitle>

<itunes:subtitle>When we know we are loved it changes everything, when we know we are awaited it changes everything. The story of Josephine Bakhita demonstrates the power of hope. Our faith leads us to trust God, and through it we come to hope in his promises. Hope then changes the way we wait.</itunes:subtitle>

O Lord make us turn to you; let us see your face, and we shall be saved. (Psalm 80:4) We do not get to choose whether or even how long we wait, but we do get to choose how we wait. We wait because we are human; but how we wait determines whether we flourish or fail as humans. We wait in faith. <description>Act of Faith
O my God, I firmly believe
that you are one God in three divine Persons,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
I believe that your divine Son became man
and died for our sins and that he will come
to judge the living and the dead.
I believe these and all the truths
which the Holy Catholic Church teaches
because you have revealed them
who are eternal truth and wisdom,
who can neither deceive nor be deceived.
In this faith I intend to live and die.
Amen.

<itunes:subtitle>Are you ready? Are you prepared? Essentially, when we say we are prepared, we are saying that we are equal to the challenge which will come. But the thing is that we often do not know what the challenges will be before we face them. Mary teaches us that though we may not be able to be completely prepared, we can say yes. As a child trusts that his parents are there for him and will provide what he needs, so also, we must recognize that God is always working for the good of those who love him – even when we do not know how. This is called faith and it is an essential aspect, perhaps the most fundamental aspect of our waiting as Christians. Together moved by our faith we joyfully wait together with eyes fixed on heaven because we need a heavenly savior. Come quickly, Lord Jesus!</itunes:subtitle>

<itunes:subtitle>We face difficult times. All of this can cause us to also reject that it is possible for us to rejoice at all times. But as Christians, this attitude comes with a problem. Saint Paul commanded us in the second reading to "Live always joyful, pray without ceasing, give thanks on every occasion." Brothers and sisters, how can we rejoice like Saint Paul? </itunes:subtitle>

<description>Brothers and sisters, how can we rejoice like Saint Paul? The first step, I believe is to admit that we are prisoners. Our prisons can be sins, addictions, bad habits, weakness. But also, we frequently suffer the effects of original sin such as physical illness and mental anxieties. So, we also suffer the effects of the sins of others in our society; sins cause a lot of trouble. They imprison us. We need as savior.
But still with Saint Paul we have to rejoice. Why? Because, although the situation is so difficult, the Lord is already very close. He's already with us, he's come. At the same time, it will come. Rose is the color of the dawn that comes after a long cold winter night.
For a Christian still on his journey in the world, joy and happiness come from hope. The Christian does not wait on a particular thing in the world, but the Dawn who has already dawned.
Hope is the firm determination to go back and face the east to greet the son of man who is coming. Therefore, hope changes us now while at the same time directing us to the future that is not yet fulfilled.
